Not The Only One

My refreshing take away from our first LIDS meeting was similar to the story of the prophet Elijah who found himself hiding out in a cave from a girl named Jezebel, boo hooing to the Lord that he was that he was the only prophet left.  When asked of the Lord what he was doing in the cave he responded, “I have been very zealous for the Lord God Almighty. The Israelites have rejected your covenant, broken down your altars, and put your prophets to death with the sword. I am the only one left, and now they are trying to Kill me too” (1 Kings 19:14 NIV). God was like, listen Holy Boy I have seven thousand in Israel who have not bowed down to Baal and whose mouths have not kissed him (1 Kings 19:18). It was wonderful to see others in the kingdom desire to serve the Lord by taking care of his sheep with love, compassion, and selflessness. I realized that my frustration with the mistreatment of the sheep by some unhealthy leaders is being acknowledged by a remnant dedicated to reversing this trend. I look forward to partnering with my fearless brothers and sisters. A word to the Godly – stay out of the CAVES.
